Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does RED Light therapy help my wrinkles?

A: Collagen and elastin are important proteins that provide structure throughout your entire facial skin. Stimulating collagen in general is good for reducing wrinkles and sagging skin. RED Light Wrinkle Therapy causes your skin to naturally increase collagen production to plump out the skin without injections and fillers.

Q: Is the Sonulase® harmful to my eyes?

A: Sonulase® emits light at an intensity that is that is considered safe for the human eyes, like a bright light bulb. The RED Light is enough to penetrate the skin to help stimulate collagen but not enough to burn the eyes used as directed.

Q: Will Sonulase® help smooth uneven areas of the skin?

A: Yes! Sonulase® works in two ways that can help level the skin. First, it gently removes surface cells to even the surface. Two, the RED light causes collagen production which gives a plumping effect.

Q: How often should I use my Sonulase®?

A: You can use mode 1 (cleansing) daily, morning or night to exfoliate and remove surface impurities. Mode 2 (targeted light therapy) should be done twice per week for up to 3 minutes per treatment area.

Q: How long does it take to see improvement?

A: When used as directed, you should see smoother, softer skin after the very first exfoliation treatment. With continued use of the targeted light therapy you can see a reduction in wrinkles in as soon as 4-6 weeks.

Q: Can I use the cleansing brush mode without the RED Light?

A: Yes, the button has two switches. One controls the RED light and the other controls the brush.

Q: Will I get faster results if I use the RED Light treatment more than suggested?

A: No. For best results and safety, use the RED Light Mode as directed (twice a week for up to three minutes per area).

Q: What is the longest I can keep the RED Light on one area if the brush is not attached or moving?

A: If the brush is attached you want to be careful to not over-exfoliate. Without the brush, it is recommended that you use the Sonulase® RED Light device for up to three minutes per treatment area.

Q: Can I go out in the sun after I have used the RED Light treatment?

A: Yes. There is no reason to avoid sunlight after a RED Light Treatment. However, up to 90% of visibile aging is caused by sun damage, so it is always a good idea to protect your skin with a broad spectrum sunscreen.

Q: How often do I need to change the cleansing brush on my Sonulase®?

A: We recommend replacing the brush heads every 3 months as the bristles will weaken with continue use and therefore become less effective over time.

Q: Can I use my facial wash with the cleansing brush?

A: Yes, you can use any facial wash with the Sonulase®, however, in order to maximize your results, we recommend using the highest grade products available. We also suggest not using a wash with exfoliating beads so you do not over exfoliate or irritate your skin.

Q: Does Sonulase® use batteries?

A: Sonulase® is rechargeable so you do not need to replace batteries.

Q: Can I use and store the Sonulase® device in my shower?

A: Although Sonulase® is water resistant, it is not water proof so it is best to keep from submerging it in water or placing it in a stream of water.
